Featured Presenter Announcement

I am honored to announce that I will be a Featured Presenter at ConVocation 2023, taking place over the weekend of February 23rd in Michigan. I invite you all to attend.

ConVocation is one of my favorite events. It is the largest and longest running magic-related convention in America by a fairly large margin, and the attendance generally hovers around a thousand. It is one of several initiatives of MEC, the Magical Education Council; and the staff leading both the con and the organization have earned my affection and loyalty over the decade and change that I’ve known them. I am proud to be their friend, supporter, and in recent instances unofficial helper.

I’ve been given a special status of Featured Presenter this year (and in a few prior) in recognition of my special contributions to the magical community at large and of Michigan’s in particular,; as well as my effectiveness as a magician and lecturer. Only a select few of the many lecturers, entertainers and ritualists at ConVocation ever get to be Featured Presenters — and so this is one of the greatest honors a practitioner of the arcane can receive in America today. I am grateful to again be considered so worthy.

Now for the fun part: I am also known for throwing parties in many different social contexts. My parties at ConVocation are salons where the most elite of magical practitioners meet with their most intelligent and devoted of fans. Absinthe is rare, Fireball is almost mandatory, and always expect the unexpected. But I promise the next ones will be extra special treats. We surely need to blow off a little steam after such a long absence from our friends.

In the meantime, I am making preparations for my lectures, which will be announced separately so they can be shared with the specific communities that may have interest. ConVocation has always been a social space where controversial topics are broached with responsibility but without fear. After a gap of time rendered necessary by the pandemic, I wish to make up for lost time with quality over quantity. The lectures I have planned will be truly unforgettable.

Lighting Striking Twice

Successful spellwork to draw vast amounts of wealth is extremely rare. More than a decade ago, I created a magic ring of wealth based on methods from the Picatrix. Not long afterwards, I received a mysterious inheritance of well over a million dollars.

When I began to lecture about my research and methods, a few critics in the magical community naturally voiced their doubts. They argued that with so many people doing spellwork for riches every day, it was only a matter of time before someone received a chance inheritance. They dismissed the sophistication of my methods and suggested that the results were mere coincidence.

I took up the gauntlet. If my methods were as reliable as I contended, I should be able to reproduce my results. Lightning striking twice would be far harder to dismiss. So that’s exactly what I did.

Using a different configuration of Picatrix methods, I made a second set of talismans. Yesterday, I officially became a multi-millionaire. The financial yield of the second set of talismans was very substantially larger than the first. No one that I know of has ever achieved results of this magnitude twice in a row.

I did this for three reasons. First to establish that the Science of Images is one of the most powerful systems of magic in existence. Second, to establish that my methods of implementation are objectively effective. And third, because magic is awesome!

Pawn Takes King: Political Magic

Thursday February 20th 10:30pm

Magic and politics have been intertwined throughout history. The metaphysics of magic are often expressed in political language or imagery, especially that of monarchy and feudalism. The Sforzas and Borgias launched a Renaissance arms race of astrological talismans. In America, slaves sought to magically destroy or gain power over their oppressors. Spiritualism had an essential role in the suffragist movement. Magic has played a role in modern political movements on both the Right and the Left. Discover how practitioners of magic are attempting to control elections and manipulate leaders in democratic governments today. Explore the rise of political radicalism in magic, and learn practical spellwork you can do to support the issues and people that matter most to you.

The Dark Arts: Curses, Binding, and Coercive Spells

Friday February 21st 4:00pm

People have been using magic to harm others since before recorded history, and practitioners have been busy inventing new and more ingenious spells to destroy people, places, and things in virtually every tradition. It’s controversial because it works. We’ll survey historical methods of cursing, binding, and dominating, and highlight effective methods for the contemporary sorcerer and witch. Learn how to make a Hoodoo poppet to cause suffering and incapacity, create a modern defixio from a lead sheet to cause illness, burn a black skull candle to drive someone insane, create a wax astrological talisman to foment strife, and more terrifyingly useful techniques. As the Weird Sisters said, “Double, double toil and trouble.” Let’s get cooking.

Creativity, Magic and The Genius

Saturday, February 22nd, 2:00pm

Seeking inspiration? Use magic to enhance your creativity! The very word “inspiration” is rooted in the belief that invention is a force that comes from outside the self—even from the spirit world. To the Romans, the word “genius” once meant a guiding spirit. Several important grimoires provide guides to unite the initiate with a higher, perfected self or powerful spirit being capable of endowing formidable skills, knowledge, and power. More immediate methods include scrying, tarot, bibliomancy, dream incubation, and many others. In this class we will survey how magicians have used the spirit world for creativity and brainstorming in these and many other ways. Delve into historical practices and learn effective modern methods for cultivating your creativity.

Big Money Magic at ConVocation 2019

Continuing what we began with “A Treasury of Money Magic” we will discuss even more techniques of wealth magic from a wide range of traditions, as well personal tips, methods, and strategies I’ve leveraged successfully for myself and for clients.

If you’ve already been dusting your money with sachet powders, putting talismans in your wallet, petitioning your ancestors with lottery tickets, and burning green candles dressed with lodestone dust and pyrite grit, we’ll take it to the next level and beyond; expect a few surprises.

This lecture will help you greatly along your quest for treasure and living like royalty.

The Three Year Project

One of these days I’m going to have to tell people about the The Three Year Project, which wrapped up around my last birthday. People really have no idea what magic can achieve if it is pursued diligently. I’m not really a patient person, but I am a determined one. This was one of my greatest triumphs and I can’t even talk about it. I’m not sure who would believe me anyway. It’s so frustrating.
