Picatrix says that Saturn is especially malevolent in curses when Essentially Dignified and Retrograde.

Saturn will be in this state until August 25.

Your Saturn-based curses will be quite ferocious during this period.

    Would you be concerned about mercury retrograde during that time at all in terms of curse work? Just curious

      Unless Mercury were a source of power for the curse, no.
